Got gigs?

You want to keep track of your gigs
You want to keep the gig information  on your own website up to date
You want the information on all those other public events calendars, too.

But you DON”T want to spend all of your time entering data.

Gigcal.com offers a web-based  enter-it-once/use-it-often service to help you manage your calendar.

How does it work?

1.         We provide a web form which you fill out for each venue and each gig.

The WHERE? of a gig is stored in a list of venues.  If you return to a venue, you won’t need to enter any of that information again, just choose the venue from your list and proceed to the WHO? WHAT? WHEN? particulars of the gig.

Your database of gigs is available to you via the internet.   It includes PUBLIC information which will be posted to your website  and public events calendars including Musi-Cal.   It also includes PRIVATE information  available only to you.  You might want to include notes after a gig about the helpful sound guy, or your CD sales.   You might want to include directions to the venue, or contact information for the venue or the gig that shouldn’t go out on the web.

2.         We create a public webpage calendar which displays the upcoming gigs in your database.

This can be a generic calendar page, or it can be styled to match your existing website.   Users may be directed from your site to your gigcal.com page, but they won’t feel like they’re leaving your site, because the “look and feel” will match. Amd they won’t get side tracked by the calendars of all those other folks!

3.         We provide a script to pull out your data to submit to Musi-Cal.

You enter new gigs, click a link, copy and paste a block of information and submit it to Musi-Cal.  Your own personal web calendar, AND the popular multi-artist Musi-Cal  calendar, and you’ve only entered the information once!

4.         We provide an interface to let you download your data into a database or Excel file on your own computer.

Don’t want to be tied to the web?  Want to add other information, create your own forms,  send emails to the contact people?  Great.  Download your gigcal information and insert it into your own FileMaker Pro, Excel or other file.

Notice that the form is divided vertically into information about the venue - The WHERE? and information about the particular date, event or gig - The WHO? WHAT? WHEN? This means that once you have entered information about a venue into your database, you'll never have to enter that information again! You can just add new gigs for that venue as they come along.

Notice also, that the form is divided between PUBLIC INFORMATION at the top and PRIVATE INFORMATION at the bottom. Only the information you enter in the top sections will be posted in your web calendar. The Private stuff is for you.

There are NO required fields -- enter as much information as you like or as you have. You can come back later and add details when you get them.
